The British Esperanto Congress 2007 will take place in Letchworth Garden City from May 4 to May 7. Letchworth lies 40 km north of London, and is easily reached by a regular train service from King's Cross, and by coach from Heathrow. A
The Garden City was the first of its kind in the world, planned according to the ideas of Esperantist Ebenezer Howard. Just a hundred years ago the garden city was visited by participants of the Universal Esperanto Congress in an excursion from Cambridge in 1907.
The congress theme, renewal, is suitable both for the topical discussion on renewal of the town centre of the garden city, and for the current discussion on renewal amongst British Esperantists.
